Recognize your savior………..

Recognize your savior………..

A house caught fire accidentally in a particular village. The husband and wife residing in that house perished in the fire before the rescue operations could reach them. The entire village gathered around the house and they were fighting hard to put out the flames. Suddenly they heard a child's scream from within the house. They were shocked. However, in as much as the fire was raging with a devastating ferocity, no one dared to enter that house. A young man, who was an alien to that village and who happened to be at the spot by chance, rushed into the house unmindful of his own safety, hurried back through the flames and fell down flat and speechless.  The little boy was saved from the flames miraculously. But the young man who rescued the boy suffered severe burns on his face, his arms and his hands. He had to be hospitalized for a very long time. After some days when he visited again the site of the accident, he found the village court in session in the heart of the village. The little boy who was saved from the fire was standing before the court surrounded by his relatives. The elders who formed the court asked the little fellow as to which of his relatives he would like to live with. But he was too young to make this crucial decision; and he said he did not have any special likeness towards any one of them. He was staring around, dazed and scared. The young man made way through the crowd stretching forth his arms full of burn scars. He said to the president, "Sir, I shall look after this little boy." The little lad also recognized his savior and embraced him. He readily agreed to go and live with his rescuer. What was it that brought about this deep affection and tie between the two? It is the unconditional sacrifice made by the young man on the child's behalf. In a similar manner Jesus Christ our Lord, the only begotten Son of God, offered Himself up as a vicarious sacrifice in atonement of our sins, iniquities and transgressions on the cross. To save us from the blazing hot fire of cruel sin, He had to suffer severe mutilation on the cross.
