Fwd: A DARING DONATION

An orphanage in a remote village in Vietnam was bombed in the Vietnam War. Many children were wounded and some died. The French missionaries who owned the orphanage and the vigilant villagers tried their best to rescue the children. But medical care was not available. Some of them ran to the neighbouring town and sent a message to the MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) Unit of the American military. The mobile medical unit rushed to the orphanage with a team of doctors, nurses and other staff and started their operation to save the wounded children. An eight year old little girl was badly wounded. She had lost a lot of blood and was in a very critical state. The only step to save her life was an immediate blood transfusion.

They examined her blood. It was of a very rare group. A donor with a compatible blood group was needed urgently. None of the members of the medical team or the staff of the orphanage or the available villagers had a matching blood group. They tested the blood of the children and identified a few little boys with the required blood group. As the members of the team were not proficient in the local language, they could not communicate with the boys clearly. They tried their best to request them to volunteer to donate blood to save the dying girl. One little boy stepped forward, ready to donate his blood. During the transfusion he started to sob and appeared to be mentally disturbed. The staff tried their best to console him.

Then a Vietnamese nurse arrived. She talked to the boy and enquired in the local language about the cause of his worry. She had a long conversation and hearing her words of assurance, the boy appeared to be remarkably relieved. His sobs were replaced by a smile. He was peaceful and jubilant. The nurse then explained the real situation. When the team requested his blood to save the girl, the poor boy had a major misunderstanding. He thought that they were demanding ALL the blood in his little body. He believed that when all his blood is drained, he would die. Still he was ready to offer his blood to save the girl. The barrier of language made the team unable to explain the details to him. The words of the local nurse consoled him considerably.

The American staff then inquired why the boy volunteered to donate his blood though he feared it would end his life. The Vietnamese nurse replied that she had asked the same question to the boy. His answer was, Because she is my friend!

Jesus taught, My commandment is this: love one another, just as I love you. The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them {John 15:12, 13}.

St. John reminds us, My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action {1 John 3:18}.

Fwd: [IT/ITES Christians] Important updates on Christmas program - Counselors required !

Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows ...He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53: 4-5

Dear Brethren,

When we are saved from punishment and healed from sin, isn't it our commission to spread this good news to others? Through our eyes of faith, we firmly believe that many new people will be eager to accept Jesus Christ through our Christmas Program on 12th December. Hence, we are in need of committed people for counseling and who can lead a person to experience salvation.

Please pray and decide if our Lord leads you to be a counselor for this program. However below are some basic criteria to be a counselor.

 *   You should have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior and have the assurance of salvation.

 *   Prayer life should be strong and consistent along with a right understanding of the Word of God

 *   With the strength of the Holy Spirit, you should be able to speak up and guide a person to receive Christ

 *   And last but not the least, you should be available to attend the counselors session planned on 5th December morning at SPG Church, Secunderabad.

Please send an email to info@interfacehyd.org<mailto:info@interfacehyd.org> with the Subject 'Ready to be a Counselor' along with your Name and Contact details before 2nd December. Otherwise feel free to contact me @ 9848127389 and let me know of any concerns.

Dear Friends,

Greetings in Jesus' name.

We had a wonderful prayer time last Saturday. Those who couldn't attend, please try to attend our final prayer meet on 5th Dec. We indeed need to stand in the gap and intercede for the salvation of our non-christian colleagues.

We have two blessed programs coming up on 3rd Dec and 11th Dec before our final showdown on 12th Dec. Details will follow soon for the first two programs. Trust you have forwarded the Christian invite to your IT/ITES Christian friends and have been praying for your non-christian friends. If not, make use of the first attachment once again.

And now, it's time to invite our non-christian and nominal christian friends for the Christmas cum gospel program! We have printed sufficient number of invitation cards (hard copy). Those of you who are part of our partner fellowships, may get in touch with your respective fellowship lead to get hold of your copies. Please start inviting your friends with the invitation cards after reading the second attachment "Points to note while inviting friends".

Christmas 2009

I know it's early but I want to be the 1st....to make you think while you believe anew

Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0 Picture

With just about 6 weeks before Christmas REMEMBER:

Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO

JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "You better not cry"

JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa's little helpers make toys

JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but

JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.

While Santa puts gifts under your tree

JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison.

We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.

We need to put Christ back in Christmas.

Jesus is still the reason for the season.

May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2009

And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year 2010.

Prepare for the coming

Fwd: Five Steps For a Miracle Working Prayer.

Greetings to you in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
My humble request to you brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ is to read this passage till the end and be blessed!!!

FIVE STEPS FOR A MIRACLE WORKING PRAYER.

Mark 11:22-23
22 Jesus said " Have Faith in God".
23 For verily I say unto you , That whosever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, Be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

STEP ONE:  NEUTRAL GEAR:
Make yourself completely calm in heart and wait upon the Lord. Tell him I don't wish to make any decisions for my own benefit, I only want your guidance.
At times the best action is to fast and pray. If you know you are really calmed down, go to next step.

STEP TWO:  DIVINE DESIRE:
Ask the Lord to reveal his will through your desire.
"Delight yourself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart".- Psalms 37:4.
Through the Holy Spirit, God puts his desire in your heart and the will to do his will. Desires can come from satan, from your own spirit or from the Holy spirit.
In your praying also have the patience to wait for God's desire to settle in. As you wait before the Lord with an open heart to know his will, one desire will rise above the others followed by great peace. Also as you wait patiently, your own desire or desire from satan weakens, but desire from Holy Spirit becomes stronger.

STEP THREE: SCRIPTURAL SCREENING:
When the right desire from the Holy Spirit comes into clear and sharp focus then compare the desire you have with what the Bible has to say to confirm it.
The Holy Spirit will never contradict God's written word.

STEP FOUR: BECKONING SIGNAL:
If God has truly spoken to your heart; he will certainly give you a signal from the external world.
E.g.: Elijah prayed seven times for rain and he received a signal from eastern sky - a cloud- appeared.

STEP FIVE: DIVINE TIMING:
After you receive the sign then take the final step. Pray until you have a real peace, if after you pray, you still feel restlessness in your spirit, and then the timing is not proper. That means there is still a red light, so keep praying and waiting. When the red light is not there and you see the green light, peace will come into your heart.
Then you should jump up and go. Go then with full speed with God's blessing and his spoken word.

MIRACLE AFTER MIRACLE WILL FOLLOW YOU.

Jesus Loves You !

A NATIONAL THANKSGIVING....

A NATIONAL THANKSGIVING.....By-George Washington, First President of USA (1789-1797)

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness": Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the Beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have enabled do establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for the great and various favors which He has been please to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our national government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Faith of a mustard seed………

Faith of a mustard seed………

Jesus said if we have faith of a mustard seed size we can move a mountain from its place and command it to fall into the sea. Does this mean we should have faith as small as a mustard seed? I remember of a story of two friends who were travelling to their village. To reach their village they had to cross over a mountain. The friends thought of the words spoken by Jesus and decided to pray that entire day, with faith, for the mountain to be moved. After the end of the prayer-filled day, they saw that the mountain was still standing in its place without moving an inch. Then one of them said, "I knew in the very beginning that the mountain would not move. It would have been better for us to cross over the mountain that to waste an entire day praying." The other friend said, "May be in the days of Jesus a mustard seed was as big as a mountain." Friends, if we observe a mustard seed we see that there is no hole or empty space inside the seed. It is complete. God wants our faith to be complete and perfect without any doubt in it. Let us have a faith that pleases God so that we may receive from Him whatever we ask.

Power of Providence

Once upon a time, following a shipwreck, one of the crew managed to hold on to a wooden remnant of the ship and was washed ashore a desolate island. He stayed there for many months expecting a rescue by some other ship. He built a tent and started a new way of life. Most of the time he reached the beach and looked for signs of help from an approaching ship. He prayed fervently but his prayers were not answered for a long period. One day, feeling much depressed and disgusted, he stood at the beach, as usual, inspecting the horizon, expecting the appearance of a ship as an answer to his prayers. Suddenly, to his horror, he found that his tent was on fire. He rushed to the scene but was helpless. He cursed God and his fate, as his last possessions were lost in the fire. He returned to the beach, ready to commit suicide in the ocean. As he entered the water, he could see the flag of a distant ship. A boat was fast approaching him. The sailors arrived and rescued him. Back in the ship, he asked the captain how they could learn about his plight. The captain said, "We saw the fire and the smoke rising from that island. We sent the boat expecting some one there."

It was only then that he realized that God's ways are mysterious. He felt sorry for cursing God for letting his only possessions catch fire. He realized that the fire was God's signal to the sailors in a distant ship. He learned to trust His lasting love.

"I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for." {Jeremiah 29:11}

No legs—But he is a great missionary…………

No legs—But he is a great missionary…………

There was a little boy who once heard how many people in the world do not know the love of Jesus. The boy had a great desire to become a missionary so that he can travel places sharing the love of God. Unfortunately, one day he met with an accident and lost both his legs. He was laid on the bedside of a window and was supplied with his daily needs. The boy grieved in his heart that he can no longer go places to share the love of Jesus. He was so disappointed. Then one day an idea struck him, everyday he made small chits with one liners in it that read messages like Jesus Loves You, Jesus Heals You, Jesus Saves You etc. He threw these chits from the window on the travelers who passed by the road. He did these for years but did not see any response. One day a stranger knocked at the door. He asked if there is anybody on the window-side throwing chits on the road. The stranger was led to the boy. The stranger said, "I am a rich industrialist. Two years ago I was struck by a strange disease which had no medicine in the medical world. I was then being taken in an ambulance for an emergency surgery. The ambulance happened to stop by the signal that is beside the window when a paper came flying and stuck to the glass window of the ambulance. It read, "Jesus heals you". The message renewed my spirit and encouraged me. Jesus healed me miraculously and today I'm completely restored with good health. Thank you for sharing His love with me" No matter in which state we are, we can still share the love of God with others and change their lives...

God is in control……….

God is in control……….

Recently I read of a heart-rending event. A few scientists went to the snow-capped North Pole for research. One of them was caught among the ridges of the ice. Snow enveloped him but he found one small slit to which he put his nose and breathed. Unfortunately, some poisonous gas emanated from the stove which he carried and blocked the slit. He was choked and he began thinking of his wife and children whom he had left far behind. There was no one to take care of them if he did not survive. Then, for a moment he composed himself and looked at the blue sky and the stars above. He realized that God was on His throne above all and was watching him. He knew God is in control and would not forget him. This thought was a ray of hope to him in his solitude. At that North Pole he was not alone but God was with him. God had concern for that scientist and in good time he sent few men to look for him. They split the blocks and miraculously saved his life. Our Heavenly Father who is on His throne is in full control of all that happens in our life. Nothing can touch us without His will…

God’s mercy will never dry up …………..

God's mercy will never dry up …………..

Sometime back I heard of this interesting example. A small fish lived in a stream in which water was exceedingly decreasing. The fish felt worried that as the water was steadily going down if the stream would dry up altogether all of a sudden. So it complained to God out of anxiety. God asked the fish whether it had enough water to swim. The fish answered that it had; God asked whether there was enough water for the fish to drink. It said there was; Again God asked whether it had enough water to breather and the fish answered that it had. Then God asked the fish, why it was so anxious when it had everything it needed? Many of us are worried in this way. If you set your faith on God, you can live in joy. His mercy will never dry up. It will be poured on us continuously. If you have lost faith in prayer, resume praying. For God's mercy endures forever!!

Hope in the midst of Storm... ... ... ( Must Read)

Hope in the midst of Storm…….. (Must Read)

I remember of a true incident that took place during World War II when the German soldiers were preparing to attack the city of Holland. There lived an old lady with her only son in Holland. This lady had great faith in God from her very young age and looked unto God alone for everything she needed. She also taught her son to trust in God. One day she heard on the radio that the German soldiers are all set to attack the city that night and destroy it. The son, trembled with fear, asked her mom how God would let such a thing happen to someone who trusted in Him. Their house was at the entrance of the city and there was no way for them to escape the destruction. The mother, still strong in her faith, knelt down on her knees and prayed. She assured her son that God will protect them. That night, they heard great explosions outside the house. They also heard the soldiers marching outside entering each home and destroying it. To their surprise, not one soldier entered their house. They sat awake until dawn and by early morning German soldiers passed Holland, When they went out to see why the soldiers surpassed their house without causing them any harm. Ah!! What a great scene to see, their home was completely covered with snow throughout the night. God had covered them with His protection throughout the night so that the soldiers could not see their house… That's how God works in a wonderful way, above our thoughts, to protect those who love Him and those who trust in Him…

Fireman Billy.... (True story of dying boy and his dream, Must Read)

Fireman Billy……….

In Phoenix, AZ. a 26-year-old mother stared down at her son who was dying of terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination. Like any parent she wanted her son to grow up and fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible. The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dreams to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do with your life?" "Mommy, I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come true." Later that day she went to her local fire department in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix. She explained her son's final wish and asked if it might be possible to give her six-year-old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honorary fireman for the whole day. He can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy one - with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots. They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix, so we can get them fast." Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his fire fighter's uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waiting hook and ladder truck. Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in the different fire engines, the paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped for the local news program. Having his dream come true, with all the love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept that no one should die alone, began to call the family members to the hospital. Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the P.A. system that there is not a fire? It's just the fire department coming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room?" About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window, sixteen firefighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they loved him. With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, Chief, am I really a fireman now? "Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," the chief said. With those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the angels have been singing." He closed his eyes one last time.

A Horrified Horse

Alexander, the Great (356 – 323 BC) had a wonderful and gorgeous horse, Bucephalus, which carried Alexander through several battles to create the mighty Greek empire. There is a legend about the taming of Bucephalus as described by Plutarch, the Greek historian and biographer.

When Alexander was only twelve years old, Philoneicus, a Thessalian brought a wild horse before King Philip II of Macedon, the father of Alexander. He wanted to sell it to King Philip. But the horse was uncontrollable and unstable. No one could tame it.

Alexander observed the peculiar behaviour of the horse and noted that it was behaving abnormally as it was scared of its own shadow. Every time it saw its shadow, it got frightened and became uncontrollable. Alexander volunteered to tame it. King Philip promised to buy the horse and gift it to Alexander if he could ride it.

Alexander knew that it was shying away from its own shadow. So he stroked it gently and slowly turned its face towards the sun and led it forward, so that its shadow was behind it and it could not see its shadow. The horse became tame and Alexander easily mounted on it and rode happily. He named it Bucephalus and used it in all his conquests till its death.

Our shadow becomes visible to us only when we turn away from the source of light. The shadow grows in size as we move away from the light.

The shadow of our sins haunts us as we turn away from Jesus, the light of the world. As we move away from Him, the shadow of sin appears to grow to alarming proportions and frighten us. But if we turn towards our Saviour, our sins cannot scare us. He sacrificed His life and redeemed us from sin and the influence of Satan.

The saintly sages of ancient India used to recite the Vedic prayer:

"ASATO MA SAD GAMAYA,

THAMASO MA JYOTHIR GAMAYA,

MRITHYOR MA AMRITHAM GAMAYA."

{Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.3.28}.

This popular prayer of Hindus in the Sanskrit language can be translated as:

"Lead us from Untruth to Truth,

Lead us from Darkness to Light

Lead us from Death to Immortality."

Jesus revealed to us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" {John 14:6}.

"I am the light of the world," He said. "Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness" {John 8:12}.

"I have come into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness" {John 12: 46}.

St. John teaches us, "God is light and there is no darkness at all in Him" {1 John 1: 5}. Isaiah foretold His incarnation and mission, "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. They lived in a land of shadows, but now light is shining on them" {Isaiah 9: 2}.

"The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out" {John 1:4,5}.

God said, "I, the Lord will be your eternal light; The light of my glory will shine on you" {Isaiah 60: 19}.

Let us turn towards Jesus, our eternal Light, who removes the shadow of sin from our lives.
